Which are the conditions and obligations the European Commission imposes when authorising aid grants in the fields of Research & Development & Innovation, Regional Development and Rescue & Restructuring?
To which extent are the EU Courts willing and prepared to scrutinize such conditions and obligations? In other words: How promising is it for Member States and beneficiaries to challenge such Commission decisions?
How will the European Commission change its policy when authorising new restructuring aid to banks? How will the Commission act when banks need public funds under the new 9% target imposed by the (EBA)?
Why are "special credit institutions" getting more and more into the focus of EU State aid control? What are they still allowed to do?

Schwalba-Hoth releases EU Stakeholder Directory
Frank Schwalba-Hoth, former MEP and co-founder of the German Green Party, launched the EU Stakeholder Directory at the European Parliament last month. The 900-page book is the result of an intense nine-month project by Schwalba-Hoth and his small Brussels team, as well as the Berlin-based publishing house, Lexxion. The aim of the Directory is to help Brussels professionals find their way around the labyrinth of EU institutions, embassies, Europe-wide associations, NGOs, law firms and companies in the capital of Europe.
And Schwalba-Hoth certainly knows Brussels stakeholders. Since his exit from the European Parliament, he has been working as a consultant, a lobbyist, the director of the Brussels office of Greenpeace and the co-founder of the consulting firm Conseiller + Partners, alongside Silvana Koch-Mehrin. Currently he is working as an independent political strategist focusing on civil society, sustainable development, energy policy, development of the EU and instituional matters. Since 2006, he has also been a member of the Right Livelihood Foundation which annually awards the “alternate Nobel-Prize”.
But Schwalba-Hoth is also well-known for his famous International Soirées. He´s been organising these invite-only monthly networking dinners since 1989 in restaurants in the European district. Each time, 60 to 80 guests from different professional, cultural and social backrounds swap tables and share stories. After almost a one-year break, due to the work on the Directory, the soirées will soon resume again. Zsófia Györi

“… extremely useful …” (Jason Collins, CEO European Australian Business Council)
“…very interesting and useful …” (Ralf Hansen, juralit.com)
„The Stakeholder.EU initiative is extremely important. The very few alternative directories are based on self-listing by Brussels-based interest groups and/or out of financial reach by most potential users. Stakeholder.EU is independent and critical in its listings and provides the best value for money now.” Rinus van Schendelen, professor in Political Science, Erasmus University Rotterdam NL, Author of 'More Machiavelli in Brussels: the art of lobbying the EU'(2010, 3rd edition)
„...an extremely useful resource ...and...excellent publication” (Pamela Cotte, College of Europe)
